Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how [App Name] (the "App"), provided by [Developer Name] ("we"), handles information when you use the App, contact us, or visit this policy website.

Contents

1. Local Files and App Data

The App stores imported files, photos, videos, and related app data locally on your device. It does not automatically upload your stored content to developer-operated servers. We cannot remotely access your stored content.

The App does not currently provide iCloud Drive or CloudKit synchronization or cloud backup of its protected storage or encryption keys. Ordinary app data may be included in device backups according to your operating system and settings. Protected storage is excluded from system device backups. Automatic restoration of protected content through iCloud is not guaranteed.

App settings and security information are kept in local app storage or the operating system's Keychain, as appropriate.

2. Encryption, Passwords, and Authentication

Files marked Private or Locked are encrypted on your device, including their protected metadata and stored thumbnails. Ordinary files do not receive this additional app-level encryption. Any optional display alias or color you assign to a protected folder may remain visible while that folder is locked.

The App does not persist your app password or locked-storage password in plaintext. It stores the verification information and protected key material needed for the relevant feature locally. Private-storage keys and app-password security information use device-only Keychain storage. Unlocked encryption keys are used in memory during the relevant session.

The app password controls entry to the App. It is separate from the locked-storage password, which protects and opens Locked files. Opening the App does not automatically unlock Locked files.

Face ID, Touch ID, and supported device-passcode authentication are handled by the operating system. The App receives authentication results and may retain system-provided authentication state; it does not receive or store your face, fingerprints, or device passcode.

We do not receive your passwords or encryption keys through the App. There is no developer-operated password or key recovery service. If you lose the required credentials or key material, encrypted content may become inaccessible.

3. Photo Library Access and Optional Original Deletion

You may select photos, videos, or GIFs to import using the system photo picker. Imported copies are processed and stored locally. The App does not automatically upload your photo library.

If you enable the option to delete originals after importing, the App saves the imported copies before requesting deletion of the corresponding originals from Photos. This feature requires sufficient photo-library access and the system's deletion confirmation. If access is unavailable or deletion fails, the App reports the problem; successfully imported copies remain in the App.

You can turn this option off in the App and change photo-library permissions in iOS Settings. Revoking permission does not remove copies already imported into the App.

4. Camera, Microphone, and Motion Access

Camera access is used when you choose to capture a photo or video. Microphone access is used to record audio with videos. Captured media is saved locally in the App. You can change these permissions in iOS Settings.

If you enable shake-to-lock or flip-to-lock, the App processes device motion locally while the feature is active. Motion readings are used to detect the locking gesture, are not retained as a motion history, and are not sent to us. These features can be disabled in the App.

5. Sharing and Exporting

When you choose to share or export content, the App provides the selected content to the destination you choose through system interfaces. The destination may be another app, a person, an email service, or a cloud storage provider. Their handling of the content is governed by their own policies.

Protected content may be decrypted for a preview, edit, share, or export that you request. Plaintext temporary files used for these operations are managed and cleaned up by the App. Copies saved or sent outside the App are controlled by you and the destination; deleting the App's copy does not delete those external copies.

6. Purchases and Restoring Purchases

The App offers a one-time Pro purchase through Apple's App Store. Apple processes payments and handles the associated Apple Account information under its own policies.

The App uses StoreKit purchase and transaction information to verify Pro access and restore purchases. We do not receive your payment-card details through the App. Restoring a purchase does not restore deleted files or encryption keys.

7. Support, Bug Reports, and Feedback

Support, bug-report, and feedback features open an email draft. An app version may be included in the subject. You decide what to include and whether to send it; the App does not automatically send the draft, stored files, passwords, or encryption keys.

If you send an email, we receive your email address, any name you provide, your message, and any attachments you choose to include. Email providers also process the correspondence under their own policies. Avoid including passwords or encryption keys.

We use this information to respond to you, investigate issues, and improve the App. We retain support correspondence for [Support Retention Period] after the inquiry is resolved, unless a longer period is required by law. You may request deletion by contacting [Contact Email].

8. This Website and Third-Party Services

The App does not use third-party advertising or tracking services. Apple's operating-system services, StoreKit, and email services are used for the functions described above.

This policy website is hosted by [Hosting Provider]. When you visit, the hosting provider may process technical request information, such as your IP address, browser information, requested page, and access time, to deliver and secure the website. Website logs are retained for [Website Log Retention Period]. The hosting provider's privacy information is available at [Hosting Privacy Policy URL]. Website requests do not give the provider access to files stored in the App.

9. Retention, Deletion, and Your Choices

You control the content stored in the App. Moving an item to Deleted Items retains it for restoration until you permanently delete it. Permanently deleting an item removes its app-managed stored copy.

Deleting the App deletes files in its local app storage. Keychain items may remain according to operating-system behavior; uninstalling the App does not guarantee that every Keychain item is removed. We do not keep a server copy of your files from which we can restore them.

Previously exported or shared copies, original media in Photos, and any existing system backups are managed separately. Use the relevant app, service, or operating-system settings to manage those copies.

You can change optional authentication, motion-lock, and original-deletion settings in the App, and revoke camera, microphone, or photo-library access in iOS Settings. Revoking access stops the relevant functionality but does not automatically erase existing imported content.

For personal information received through support or this website, contact [Contact Email] to request access, correction, or deletion, subject to applicable law. We cannot remotely delete content that exists only on your device.

10. Data Sharing and Lawful Requests

We do not sell or rent your personal information, use your stored content for advertising, or use the App to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Information may be processed by the services needed to provide website hosting or email support, as described above. Content you explicitly share is delivered to your chosen destination.

We assess requests from courts, law-enforcement agencies, and other public authorities under applicable law. Where a valid legal obligation requires disclosure, we disclose only information actually held by us and within the scope legally required, such as support correspondence we have received or website information available to us.

We do not hold or have remote access to the files, passwords, or encryption keys stored only on your device. We therefore cannot provide or decrypt that content from our systems in response to an authority's request. This describes our actual access to data and does not waive any obligations imposed by applicable law.

11. Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through support, contact [Contact Email] so we can review and delete it where appropriate. We do not have remote access to content stored locally in the App.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy if the App's features or data practices change. The updated policy will be published on this page, and the "Last Updated" date will be revised. Any future cloud backup or synchronization feature will require this policy to be updated to describe its actual handling of data.
